For existing customers, login to your account and select Numbers from the navigation bar. Select the Start New Transfer button.
Your number:
- Must be active with your current service provider.
- Must include the account number and PIN if porting a wireless number.
Step 1: Checking the rate center
The first step in the process of porting to NumberBarn verifies that we can support the rate center of your number.
Step 2: Account information
The information you submit with your port must match what is on file with your current service provider. If your number is resold or you're not sure what information is on file, ask your provider before submitting your port.
Step 3: Authorize your port
You'll need to authorize the number you are porting to verify ownership.
In order to start your port/transfer to NumberBarn, you will need to verify that you own your phone number by authorizing your transfer request. NumberBarn offers three options for authorizing:
Authorization Call
- Login to your account
- Select Numbers from the navigation bar
- Select the Call Me button
This will place a call to your phone number being transferred. Answer and we read you a 4-digit code. Enter the code in the space provided in your account. You can initiate this call at any time. If you are unable to complete the call at the time of sign up, simply log out and log back in at a more convenient time. Do not cancel.
Authorization Text
- Login to your account
- Select Numbers from the navigation bar
- Select the Text Me button
This will send a text to your phone number being transferred. The text will contain a 4-digit code. Enter the code in the space provided in your account. You can initiate this text at any time. If you are unable to complete this at the time of sign up, simply log out and log back in at a more convenient time. Do not cancel.
Letter of Authorization (LOA)
- Login to your account
- Select Numbers from the navigation bar
- Select the Get LOA Instructions button below your phone number port under Option 2.
You will be shown instructions for downloading, signing and submitting our Letter of Authorization (LOA). This form verifies your authorization to transfer the phone number to NumberBarn.
Copy of Bill (COB)
You'll also need to submit a copy of bill dated within the last 30 business days from your current service provider. Should you not have a copy of bill available, a screenshot of your online account showing your name, number and account information will be acceptable.
Please Note: These authorization options do not replace the need to provide NumberBarn with the current account details for your phone number. We will still be required to submit your contact details and account information from your current carrier.
Step 4: Time frame
Porting can take anywhere from 3-7 business days, up to 10 business days, to complete to your NumberBarn account. We'll notify you every step of the way for the process.
