If you submit a port request and the provider tells you, “We’re just waiting on NumberBarn or NumberGarage to release your number”.
You say, “Come on what gives? Why aren’t you releasing my number yet?”
When a port request is submitted it can take up to 3 business days before we receive it. The reason for this is because your new provider may have to submit it to a third party. Then they submit it to our vendor and maybe to our carrier depending on the relationship between all of these parties before it comes to our system to check to see if it’s approved.
If you don’t have an update in about 3 business days, reach out to your new service provider, as well as to our customer support team to look into it.
And no, we can’t expedite your port request.
If we had a magic wand in order to do that we would but we don’t so we cannot expedite your port request. We'll definitely email you once the port request is approved letting you know that it has been approved.
Your new desired service provider will have the actual scheduled date that it will port over to their system. This date might be between 3 and 7 business days sometimes up to 10 business days from the date of approval. Once your number does port away from us, we’ll remove it from your account to stop the billing.
