Did your call forwarding stop working properly? If so, you've come to the right place. But before we begin troubleshooting your call forwarding, the following article will help you with the initial setup:
How to forward calls to another number
There are a few ways to troubleshoot issues with call forwarding on your number. Please follow the steps below:
- Check to make sure you've typed your forwarding number correctly. We find this is one of the most common reasons why calls aren't forwarded properly. Again, this article will walk you through checking your call forwarding settings: Forward calls to another number
- Verify your forwarding number is working. To test this, you can place a call to your forwarding number to verify the call is connecting. If your call directly to the forwarding number is unable to connect, our system won't be able to forward calls to that number either.
- Verify that calls are not going directly to voicemail. This might occur if you are forwarding to a phone that is turned off, out of range, or configured for do not disturb. Also, check to make sure you have call forwarding configured in your NumberBarn account as opposed to sending calls to voicemail.
- Be sure to dial from an outside number. If you test your call forwarding from the same number that you are forwarding to, it will cause a loop and you will likely hear your voicemail greeting or a beep of some sort. Use a completely separate landline or cell phone number that isn't tied to your forwarding number when testing.
