There are two different ways to place outbound calls using the NumberBarn Mobile Application. In this article, we'll review both methods so you can successfully place outbound calls. But first, be sure that you are using the New NumberBarn Application and not the NumberBarn Classic Application. Click here to access our mobile applications.
Callback Mode
In Callback Mode, you can place your calls from the NumberBarn mobile application, and enter both the number you are dialing and the number of the device (mobile or landline) you wish to call from. You will immediately receive a call on that device from NumberBarn. When you answer that call, you will then be connected to the number you wish to dial.
Callback Mode is ideal for those times when you would rather place calls through a preexisting phone connection rather than relying on WiFi or a cellular data connection. To enable Callback Mode do the following:
- Open the NumberBarn app
- Click the dialer icon at the bottom of the screen
- Click the little gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen
- Set the Dialer Mode to Callback.
- Enter a telephone number you want to call from. This could be a landline or cell phone number.
- If you have multiple telephone numbers, you can click near the bottom of the screen to select the telephone number you want to call from.
- Click Done and make some calls!
VOIP Mode
In VOIP Mode, you are instead dependent on an internet connection to place an outbound call. This could include the cellular data connection on your mobile phone or the wireless internet you are connected to at home, office, local coffee shop, etc.
When you place calls in VOIP mode, you will be immediately connected with the number you are attempting to dial. The experience is identical to calling from a mobile or landline device in this regard. To enable VOIP Mode do the following:
- Open the NumberBarn app
- Click the dialer icon at the bottom of the screen
- Click the little gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen
- Set the Dialer Mode to VOIP.
- Click Done and make some calls!
- If you have multiple telephone numbers, you can click near the bottom of the screen to select the telephone number you want to call from before making that call.

Note: When placing outbound international calls, simply dial the number you wish to call, no need for "+" to be dialed first when using the NumberBarn Mobile Application.
Receiving inbound calls
Inbound calls to your NumberBarn number are routed based on the call settings within your account. Note that we currently do not offer a way to ring inbound calls directly to the mobile application, but if you are using the Forward or Unlimited plan, you can definitely forward calls to your mobile telephone number. If you are currently using the Park plan, you may want to consider changing your plan and upgrading to the Forward or Unlimited plan which would allow you to receive incoming calls.
We do provide you with a convenient way to edit your call settings directly in the mobile application. To do so:
- Tap on the Menu
- Tap on Numbers
- From here, you can click on a particular number and edit the settings for that number.

While placing an outbound call the system asks for a 10 digits card number. What is that information?
Hi Stepsforlearning, I see that a team member responded to your ticket. It looks like you had ported your number away so you would need to reach out to your new provider to see why this is happening.
