Number Barn Support for International Travel
Every October I travel abroad for 4-6 months. While away I need to be able to receive SMS authentication codes from my bank and other secure sites. I also use a SIM from one or more countries that I'm travelling to. So I use Number Barn to support the SMS code messages as well as voice mail calls to my Canadian number. Here is how I use Number Barn.
I have a SIM from another country that allows me data in all of the countries I've visited so far in Asia Europe and North Africa. I ported my Canadian number to Number Barn. Then I purchased an eSIM for use in Canada for 6 months. I then forwarded my Number Barn number to my temporary Canadian eSIM and receive calls to my long time number. When I leave in October I cancel my temporary Canadian number and purchase an eSIM in the country I'm visiting. Then I get all my SMS's and voice mails as usual through my Number Barn account. Number Barn of course allows me to call any North American number free of charge and if I don't have an eSIM for a country I can also just use Number Barn to place calls to the country I'm visiting. The few pennies a minute to make international calls is a real bargain. Now I'm never out of touch. I can call anywhere in the world and I can receive SMS and voice mail from anywhere. I'm waiting to see if Number Barn can support International forwarding which would be an amazing bonus. The monthly Number Barn fee is cheaper than any mobile service in any of the countries I've visited!

Just a heads up, we do have international forwarding, although I’m not sure if it applies to your use cases or not.
