NumberBarn Seller Fees Feel Excessive for Lower-Priced Numbers
I’d like to suggest that NumberBarn reconsider its fee structure for sellers.
The current fees feel quite high: $5 to port a number in, $2.99/month for parking, and a 40% commission on sales. Other services that allow number parking are often closer to around $1/month, and porting is frequently offered for free.
For higher-value numbers, the structure may be easier to absorb. But for many numbers selling in the $100–$200 range, the combination of monthly parking fees, porting fees, and a 40% commission feels excessive and significantly reduces the seller’s net proceeds.
I understand that NumberBarn provides a marketplace and handles important parts of the transaction, but I think the current fee structure may discourage smaller sellers or people with moderately priced numbers from listing. A lower commission, cheaper parking, or waived/reduced porting fees for sellers would make the platform more attractive and competitive.

The monthly park rate includes more than just storing a number, it also includes marketplace visibility, allowing brokers to list their numbers for resale, which isn’t offered by all parking services. For the $5 port-in fee, customers can choose the annual park plan where that fee is waived. Brokers managing a higher volume of numbers may qualify for volume discounts. The 40% commission covers the services involved in facilitating transactions, including processing, fraud prevention, and customer support. Brokers typically factor these costs into their pricing. I hope that helps.
