Fraudulent Port Out - Number Stolen!!!
On September 25th, I received an email from NumberBarn confirming that my number had been ported out. The problem is, I never requested, nor authorized a port out. The number ends in 000, so it's quite valuable and this is clearly a fraudulent port out. At the bottom of the email, they helpfully state:
Please contact us immediately at support@numberbarn.com if you did not authorize this transfer.
Following their advice, I immediately replied to the email stating the above. I then received an autoreply assigning a ticket number to the case. EIGHT HOURS LATER, I received this response:
Hi Brad, thanks for reaching out.
I definitely understand your concern with getting your number moved over to your new provider. I'm getting a member of our Porting Team to take a closer look at what’s going on right away.
We appreciate your continued patience and one of my teammates will get back to you via email with more details within 1-2 business day, if not sooner. Thanks for choosing us to meet your number needs!

Are these people for real? Is this even a real company? Apparently, this "Eros" didn't bother reading my urgent reply and just sent me a canned reply. I immediately replied to his canned reply:
No, you don’t understand. THIS IS A FRAUDULENT TRANSFER and it needs to be reversed IMMEDIATELY. I did NOT authorize this transfer.
I sent that reply on Friday. It's now end-of-day on Monday and I still have not received any response. I just created a new ticket in the hopes that someone will at least read it, since apparently my original ticket has disappeared into some sort of black hole. It's ironic that a company that sells phone numbers has no phone number of their own.

Brad Hello! I am from the Service Issues team and I am so sorry this happened. I did find your ticket and have responded to you there. We identified a glitch in our system that marked a small amount of numbers as ported away in error.
We have restored your number. It should be working as expected now.
