Can I use my number to send and receive messages with Apple iMessage?

Our service is not currently compatible with Apple's iMessage service to send and receive messages. Any messages sent to and from a NumberBarn or NumberGarage number are considered text messages.

iMessage is a service used between iOS devices requiring an active SIM, Apple ID, and WiFi connection. For example, a message sent from an Apple phone to another Apple phone can use either the iMessage or text message service. A message sent from an Apple Phone to a NumberBarn or NumberGarage number or a non-Apple device will be sent and received as a text message.
