π‘ What is it?
How and when a broker gets paid for completed sales and licenses, and what to expect at tax time.
βοΈ How it works
NumberBarn handles billing, credit card processing, and collecting funds for every brokered sale and license, a broker never bills a buyer directly.
Hold Periods
A payout becomes available 10 days after its sale or license completes. For a brand new broker, the very first payout is held until 30 days after the account's first completed sale or license, every payout after that follows the standard 10 day hold.
Payout Methods
Three ways to get paid, chosen at the time a payout is requested:
- Account balance, applied toward NumberBarn account fees.
- ACH, to a verified US bank checking or savings account. Requires taxpayer information and a verified bank account on file first.
- PayPal, connected by logging in at the moment the payout is requested. No setup ahead of time is needed, and there's no country restriction on choosing it.
Taxes
Selling and earnings history is available to review anytime for tax purposes. US taxpayer information is certified as an IRS Form W-9 equivalent when entered. A broker outside the US provides a Form W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E directly to their NumberBarn account manager, this isn't handled automatically in the dashboard.
The $600 annual threshold and the 1099-MISC form type mentioned in some existing materials couldn't be confirmed against the current system and may reflect an offline finance process rather than something the dashboard itself enforces, pending confirmation before this section states a specific number or form type.
π Things to Know
- Payouts are governed by the Marketplace Broker Terms, including the hold periods above.

Maybe after "A broker outside the US provides a Form W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E directly to their NumberBarn account manager" include an alternate option for brokers who have not been introduced to Kylie/Holly yet? Perhaps by emailing the general sales inbox?
So, something like "A broker outside the US provides a Form W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E directly to their NumberBarn account manager or reach out to sales @numberbarn.com"
