WhatsApp Issues
Within the past year, WhatsApp made a policy change to only allow wireless telephone numbers to be used on their platform. NumberBarn numbers are classified as wireline and would need to be ported to a wireless carrier before registering with WhatsApp.
In more recent days we're receiving reports that customers still can't use their number with WhatsApp even after converting it to a wireless number. We believe this is because WhatsApp isn't refreshing their systems to see the reclassification of the number.
After much correspondence with WhatsApp support they have acknowledged that there's a system issue and they currently don't have an estimation as to when this will be resolved. We have summarized our current approach to WhatsApp in this article:
How to use WhatsApp with NumberBarn and NumberGarage
Please follow this post for updates as we work to resolve this issue with WhatsApp.

UPDATE: We've made significant updates to the following article regarding WhatsApp:
Issues using WhatsApp with NumberBarn and NumberGarage telephone numbers
In short, if you port a number from NumberBarn to a wireless carrier you may have to wait at least 3 months before you can use the number on WhatsApp. But we have received numerous reports that the number will eventually work.

I’m having a couple of issues that I hope you can help with.
1) I’m unable to register this number on WhatsApp. I’m getting an error message saying, “The phone number you entered is not a valid mobile number for the United States” (please see the attached screenshot).
2) when I make calls, the number shows as being from Ontario, Canada, instead of California, US.
Could you kindly check this and help me resolve these issues as soon as possible?0 -
Shark regarding WhatsApp, definitely read the article referenced above. You may need to wait 3 months before Whatsapp will allow you to use your wireless number. You can try contacting their support.
Regarding your callerID, keep in mind that there's a city called Ontario in California within the 909 area code. If you are seeing "Ontario, CA" that means California, not Canada. I hope this helps!
