port number to another person

I want to port the number to my grandchild.  if the phone is in their name will it be denied

  Hi teresa mccommas, thank you for your comment. It looks like a member of our team was able to help you out with this. In general, if this comes up in the future, you can definitely edit the contact information on your account (other than the email address) and then change it back after the telephone number ports away. I hope your grandchild loves their new number!
