🔍 Before You Begin 

What you will need: 

1. Access to your NumberBarn account 
2. At least one of the following: a secondary email address, a US or Canadian SMS-enabled phone number, or an authenticator app (e.g. Google Authenticator, 1Password, NordPass)

What is Two-Step Authentication used for?

Two-Step Authentication (2SA) adds a second layer of security to your NumberBarn account. After entering your username and password, you'll be prompted to verify your identity through a secondary method before gaining access. This protects your account even if your login credentials are compromised.

NumberBarn supports three 2SA methods:

• Email — A verification code sent to a secondary email address (must be different from your login email)
• SMS — A verification code sent via text to a US or Canadian phone number not listed on your account
• Authenticator App — A time-based code generated by an app like Google Authenticator (TOTP)

Adding more than one method is recommended so you always have a backup if you lose access to one.

📋 Steps 

Enable Two-Step Authentication

1	Login to your account
2	Select Numbers
3	Locate the Two-Step Authentication section
4	Toggle the Enabled switch to On
5	Select your preferred method from the pop-up window and follow the steps below ⤵️

Email

1. Select the Email radio button
2. Enter a secondary email address (must be different from your login email)
3. Click Submit
4. Check your inbox for your verification code
5. Enter the verification code in the Verification code field
6. Click Submit: ➡️ Your email method is now added.

SMS

1. Select the SMS radio button
2. Enter a US or Canadian phone number that can receive text messages and is not listed on your NumberBarn account
3. Click Submit
4. Check your text messages for your verification code
5. Enter the verification code in the Verification code field
6. Click Submit: ➡️ Your SMS method is now added.

Authenticator App

1. Select the Authenticator app radio button
2. Open your authenticator app on your mobile device
3. Tap + and select Scan a QR code
4. Scan the QR code displayed on your screen
5. Enter the token from the app in the Token field
6. Click Submit: ➡️ Your authenticator app method is now added.
