🔍 Before You Begin
What you will need:
- Access to your NumberBarn account
- At least one of the following: a secondary email address, a US or Canadian SMS-enabled phone number, or an authenticator app (e.g. Google Authenticator, 1Password, NordPass)
What is Two-Step Authentication used for?
Two-Step Authentication (2SA) adds a second layer of security to your NumberBarn account. After entering your username and password, you'll be prompted to verify your identity through a secondary method before gaining access. This protects your account even if your login credentials are compromised.
NumberBarn supports three 2SA methods:
- Email — A verification code sent to a secondary email address (must be different from your login email)
- SMS — A verification code sent via text to a US or Canadian phone number not listed on your account
- Authenticator App — A time-based code generated by an app like Google Authenticator (TOTP)
Adding more than one method is recommended so you always have a backup if you lose access to one.
📋 Steps
Enable Two-Step Authentication

| 3 | Locate the Two-Step Authentication section | ||
| 4 | Toggle the Enabled switch to On | ||
| 5 | Select your preferred method from the pop-up window and follow the steps below ⤵️ |
- Select the Email radio button
- Enter a secondary email address (must be different from your login email)
- Click Submit
- Check your inbox for your verification code
- Enter the verification code in the Verification code field
- Click Submit: ➡️ Your email method is now added.
SMS
- Select the SMS radio button
- Enter a US or Canadian phone number that can receive text messages and is not listed on your NumberBarn account
- Click Submit
- Check your text messages for your verification code
- Enter the verification code in the Verification code field
- Click Submit: ➡️ Your SMS method is now added.
Authenticator App
- Select the Authenticator app radio button
- Open your authenticator app on your mobile device
- Tap + and select Scan a QR code
- Scan the QR code displayed on your screen
- Enter the token from the app in the Token field
- Click Submit: ➡️ Your authenticator app method is now added.
