🔍 Before You Begin 

What you will need: 

1. Access to your NumberBarn account 
2. A US phone number on your account (Transfer Lock is not available for Canadian numbers)

What is Transfer Lock used for?

Transfer Lock prevents your phone number from being ported out to a different carrier. When enabled, NumberBarn will work to reject port out requests for that number, even if all credentials supplied are correct. Transfer Lock is disabled by default.

When Transfer Lock is active, a 🔒 red lock icon will appear next to your number on the Numbers page.

⚠️ Transfer Lock is offered as a courtesy and is not guaranteed. NumberBarn uses commercially reasonable efforts to block port-outs, but numbers may still port due to legal action, regulatory requirements, slamming, carrier policy, or other circumstances beyond our control.

📋 Steps 

Enable Transfer Lock

1	Login to your account
2	Select Numbers
3	Click on the phone number you want to edit
4	Click the Port Out tab
5	Click Transfer Lock Settings
6	Toggle the Lock switch to On
	(Optional) Check Apply to all numbers on my account to enable Transfer Lock on all numbers at once
7	Click the Save Changes button		➡️ Transfer Lock is now enabled. A red lock icon will appear next to your number on the Numbers page, and the Port Out tab will show "Transfer Lock engaged."

Disable Transfer Lock

1	Login to your account
2	Select Numbers
3	Click on the phone number you want to edit
4	Click the Port Out tab
5	Click Transfer Lock Settings
6	Toggle the Lock switch to Off
7	Click Save Change		➡️ Transfer Lock is now disabled. Allow 24 hours for the setting to take effect before submitting your port request with your new provider.
