💡 What is it?
Your current carrier needs specific account details to approve a transfer to NumberBarn. Enter them after checkout, in Carrier credentials on the Numbers page. They must match what your current carrier has on file exactly.
Incorrect or missing details are the most common cause of delays and rejections
⚙️ How it works
Carrier Credentials Fields
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Account number | Your account number with your current carrier, usually found on your bill. |
| Transfer PIN | Required for wireless numbers, at least 4 characters, and optional for landline and VoIP numbers. |
| First Name and Last Name | The authorized name on your current carrier account. |
| Business name | Shown when you check This is a business account. Enter it only if your carrier account is a business account. |
| Service address on file with your current carrier | The service address your carrier has on file, which may differ from your billing address. |
| City, State, and ZIP | The city, state, and ZIP for that service address. |
| Current provider | Canadian numbers only. Select Other and enter the provider name if yours isn't listed. |
| Which carrier are you transferring from? | Optional, and shown only for some numbers. |
| Billing telephone number | Shown only if your carrier rejects the request for it. It's the main number on your carrier account. |
Prefilled Details
The name and service address are prefilled from your NumberBarn contact details. Change anything your current carrier has on file differently.
PO boxes aren't accepted. If a PO box is all your carrier has, use the format 123 PO BOX.
Wireless, Landline, and VoIP Numbers
NumberBarn detects the number type automatically.
- Wireless numbers: a Transfer PIN is required. Verify ownership by text or call.
- Landline and VoIP numbers: a Transfer PIN is usually not required. Verify ownership by phone call only.
Use Details for Other Pending Transfers

📌 Things to Know
Information Must Match Exactly
Every detail must match your current carrier's records, including the authorized name, address formatting, account number, and PIN. Small differences can cause rejections.
Wireless Numbers Often Require a Special PIN
Many wireless carriers require a Transfer PIN, Porting PIN, or Wireless Transfer PIN. It's different from your regular account PIN and may be issued temporarily just for porting.
If your request is rejected for a PIN mismatch:
- Confirm the correct transfer PIN with your carrier.
- Check whether the PIN expired.
- Confirm your line is unlocked for transfer.
- Click Update My PIN and resubmit. ▶️ See Resolve a Port In Rejection ⚙️
