🔍 Before You Begin
What you will need:
- An active 10-digit phone number.
- You must own and be the authorized user for this phone number.
- Porting credentials for that phone number from the current carrier
- Authorized User Name
- Service Address (Street, City, State, Zip code)
- Account Number
- PIN (required for ALL wireless phone numbers)
Why Start a Port In Request?
- Port In request will allow you to port (transfer) your phone number from your current carrier to NumberBarn. NumberBarn will now be the carrier of this phone number, and all phone functionality will be run by NumberBarn.

1️⃣ Check Number for Portability

| 4 | Click Verify Number to check for portability status | ||

2️⃣ Current Carrier Information (Porting Credentials)
| 7 | Fill out all fields with the information exactly as it is listed with your current carrier for the specific 10-digit phone number you want to port in. |
➡️ Your carrier will ask us for your account number (usually found on your bill) and Transfer PIN. You can skip this step for now, but we've found that in most cases, we'll need this information in order to complete your port request. |

3️⃣ Add Order to Cart & Create an Account
| 9 | Click the Checkout button to submit the order. |
➡️ No payment is due at checkout when submitting a Port In request. You will only be charged the one-time porting fee and service plan once the number is successfully transferred into NumberBarn. |

5️⃣ Authorize & Submit Port In Request

🇨🇦 Canadian Phone Number Authorization Steps ⤵️ | |||
| 1 | Check for an email or text message on the phone number you are porting for a confirmation to authorize |
In addition to a text message from NumberBarn, if you are porting in a Canadian number, please be aware that your current carrier, the losing carrier, is likely going to send you a text message to approve the port request. You will need to approve that before you can port the number to NumberBarn. In some cases, customers have been able to contact their carrier to bypass this requirement. This does mean that you will need to be able to receive text messages at your number to port your number. |

6️⃣ Approval or Rejections

7️⃣ Port In Completion
On FOC Date ⤵️ | |||
| 0 | On the FOC date, NumberBarn, as the gaining carrier, will pull the number to our system and send you an email at that time. The number will start working on our system at the time, and all functionality on your previous device will stop working | ||
| 1 | Check your email inbox for an email from NumberBarn |
