π‘ What is it
A Menu (or auto-attendant menu) allows you to set up to 10 call-handing actions that correspond to the keys on the phone keypad (0-9). Greet callers with your custom voice prompts that instruct them to press a key on their keypad (similar to an extension) to reach a department, person or message: "Press 1 for sales, 2 for support and press 3 for all other inquiries."
An Advanced Menu includes the Business Line features as forwarding options within the Menu.
βοΈ How it works
Key presses can be configured to forward callers to:
- a single user's call-forwarding number ("Press 1 for George Washington.")
- a group ("Press 2 for our sales team.")
- another outbound message ("Press 3 to hear our special holiday hours.")
- hear your menu message again ("Press 4 to repeat this message.")
- the number's voicemail box
You can also set actions if the caller does not press a key or presses an incorrect key.
π Things to Know
Required Menu Setup
- Using the menu requires an outgoing message to be played when a caller dials your number. The menu will not function without it.
Extensions
- The Business Line does not currently have an extension feature or system in place.
