Your number will need to be activated to port out to a new carrier. Selecting the NumberBarn Park or Port Away plan allows the number to be activated on our system for porting. Each plan is just $2 per month, allowing you 30 days to port away.
If you haven't ported away after 30 days you will be billed a monthly fee for any of our plans. Note that if you are on the "Port Away" plan, you will be switched to the "Park" plan after 30 days -- but this won't interrupt your porting in any way. Once the number has ported away, your service is automatically canceled and you will not incur any further charges.
Will I receive a credit or refund when I port away?
We will not continue to bill you or charge your credit card once your number ports away. In addition, if you port away in the middle of your billing cycle, we do not issue any prorated credits or refunds.
If you're currently on the Park Plan with Annual billing and port out in the middle of your year of billing, we can issue a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of the year. Just contact Support and we'll be happy to help with that.
