🔍 Before You Begin 

What you will need: 

1. An active phone number on your account. 
2. The new owner's name and email address.
3. The new owner must already have a NumberBarn account under that email address. If they do not, have them create one first.  ▶️ See Create a NumberBarn Account ⚙️

What is Ownership Transfer used for?

Ownership Transfer lets you give a phone number to another NumberBarn user, while the number stays with NumberBarn. This is different from a Port Away, which moves a number to a different carrier entirely.

📋 Steps 

Send an Ownership Transfer

1	Login to your account
2	Click on the Numbers tab
3	Click on the phone number you want to transfer
4	Click the Options tab
5	Click on the Ownership Transfer button
6	Enter all required information about the new owner		➡️ Transferring lots of numbers? Click on the button at the top to add a list
	(6a) First & Last Name
	(6b) Email Address Must have a NumberBarn account
	(6c)  Select who pays the $3 one time ownership transfer fee,  New Owner Pays Transfer Fee  I Will Pay Transfer Fee
7	Click the Send Transfer Notice button to initiate transfer
8	See the status of the number transfer on the My Numbers page
9	Check your email inbox for two confirmation emails:
	(9a) Ownership Transfer Initiated (9b) Ownership Transfer Completed
10	History of the transfer can also be found by clicking on the Sell tab, Tools, Ownership Transfer

Accept an Incoming Transfer (New Owner)

1	Check your email inbox for the Accept Your New Number email from NumberBarn.
2	Click the Accept & Complete Transfer link
3	Follow Prompts on the pop-up:
	(3a) Review Today's Total amount
	(3b) Click the Pay button to use the card on file OR ⤵️
	(3c) Click the Use one-time payment button to use a different payment method
4	When done, you will see the new number listed on your My Numbers page.

✅ What's Next

• The sender receives an Ownership Transfer Initiated email confirming the number and new owner.
• Pending and completed transfers can be viewed from the Sell tab, which is also where a pending transfer can be canceled.
• Once accepted, the number appears in the new owner's account, and an Ownership Transfer Completed email arrives with next steps, including setting up the number's outgoing message, call forwarding, and text messaging, and placing a test call to confirm it works as expected.
