Porting to a Wireless Carrier?
First, check with your provider below to see if they will accept the phone number(s) you want to purchase from NumberBarn. Note that wireless carriers don't support Toll-Free Numbers, but many landline and VoIP providers do (see Porting Toll-Free Numbers section below). We've included some links to check with your wireless carrier here:
- Check portability with AT&T
- Check portability with Verizon Wireless
- Check portability with T-Mobile
- Check portability with Sprint
Porting to a Wireline Carrier?
Wireline (or landline) carriers typically take 3-7 (sometimes up to 10) business days to accept a port. Don't worry, our solutions team will work with you and your carrier to try and get your number ported over as efficiently as possible.
Important: Note that wireline ports are limited to the geographical region of the area code requested.
Wireline or landline ports must be associated with an area code for the region it is in. Please contact your specific wireless / landline carrier prior to purchasing your number, to verify portability to the physical address desired.
Porting Toll-Free Numbers
While wireless or cell phone carriers do not support porting for toll-free numbers, there are a variety of landline and VoIP carriers that do. This includes NumberBarn and NumberGarage.
It's always best to check with the gaining carrier (i.e. your new carrier) to determine if they support the number.
The following are just some of the landline and VOIP providers who are able to support toll-free numbers:
- AT&T Business
- RingCentral
- Spectrum Business
- Verizon Business
- Vonage
Finally, if you really need calls for your toll-free number to route to a cell phone, consider using call forwarding to a local cell phone number.
