In this article, we will share everything you need to know about e911 as it pertains to your account so you know why it's important and how to keep your information up to date.
What is e911?
e911 is the service by which we collect the physical address of any VoIP device. This ensures that calls to 911 from that device are routed to the appropriate 911 dispatcher and an accurate location for the caller is transmitted. In emergency situations, where time is of the essence, emergency services can be routed to that location efficiently and accurately.
As a provider of VoIP services, we are required by the FCC to collect and store an up-to-date e911 address for any accounts using such services.
How do I add or update my e911 address?
- Login to your account
- Select Dialer
- Select the Dialer Settings gear icon on the bottom right
- Select VoIP
- Select Enter my 911 address
- Enter the physical address of your location
- Save your settings

Can I remove my e911 address?
Currently, you can only add or update your e911 address. It cannot be removed. If this is a concern, please reach out to customer support and we can help.
What types of addresses are supported?
You can submit a physical street address based in the United States of America or Canada. PO Boxes and other international locations are not supported.
Are there any fees for e911 service?
As of April 2021, customers will be subject to a monthly e911 fee. The amount of this fee varies based on location and helps to defray the cost of the e911 service that we provide to our customers.
