💡 What is it
Call forwarding is the act of transparently forwarding a call from one phone number to another active phone number. Forward your calls to any U.S. or Canadian number. Receive and manage incoming calls on one device from multiple phone numbers.
Some international numbers are available to forward calls to (additional rates may apply).
⚙️ How it works
Settings
From your NumberBarn account, choose how calls to a specific phone number route using the following options: Forward, Menu, Voicemail:
| Description | Learn More | ||
| Forward | Transparently forward calls to any US or Candian active phone number (like a cell phone or landline number) | Configure Call Forwarding 🛠️ | |
| Menu | Set up to 10 call-handing actions that correspond to the keys on the phone keypad (0-9) and greet callers with custom voice prompts | Menu Overview 📖 | |
| Voicemail | Create a customer or use default voicemail message. Send to a user's voicemail. | Voicemail Overview 📖 |
Call Handling
We can allow 2 concurrent incoming callers at one time.
- Any additional calls after that will be sent directly to voicemail if voicemail is enabled on the account. If voicemail is not enabled, callers will hear a busy signal, and the calls will show up with zero minutes in the call log.
- Some other companies might refer to these as "lines" or "call paths." Regardless, they all refer to the same thing. If you require more concurrent calls than this, please contact customer support so we can determine if we can support your specific use case.
📌 Things to Know
- Forwarding calls can only be sent to one phone number at a time
- If using a Menu, the caller will have to select an option, and then calls will route based on those settings to one other phone number
- See Menu Overview for more details
