💡 What is it?

The Messages tab in the NumberBarn Mobile App allows you to send, receive, and manage text message conversations associated with your NumberBarn phone numbers.

This is the primary location for text messaging within NumberBarn. Customers can view conversations, start new messages, manage multiple phone numbers, and organize message history from a single inbox.

Text Messaging must be activated on an eligible local phone number before messages can be sent or received.

⚙️ How it works 

View Conversations

The Messages tab displays SMS conversations associated with your NumberBarn phone numbers.

Each conversation displays ⤵️

Contact name or phone number The NumberBarn number used in the conversation Message preview Date of most recent activity Read and unread status Conversations are displayed with the most recent activity first.

Send and Receive Messages

The NumberBarn Mobile App is the only place where outbound text messages can currently be sent.

Functions include ⤵️

Filter by Phone Number

Conversations can be filtered by the NumberBarn phone number.

Available options include ⤵️

All Numbers Individual phone numbers assigned to the account This makes it easier to view conversations associated with a particular NumberBarn number.

Manage Conversations

The Messages tab includes tools for organizing message activity.

Available options include ⤵️

Start a New Conversation

Use the compose button in the lower right corner of the Messages tab to start a new text message conversation. New conversations can be created using saved contacts or phone numbers.

📌 Things to Know 

Text Messaging Requires Activation

Each eligible phone number must have Text Messaging activated before messages can be sent or received.

Local Numbers Only

Text Messaging is currently supported on eligible local NumberBarn phone numbers.

Not supported:

• Toll-free numbers
• International numbers

Mobile App vs Web Browser

Messages can be viewed from both the NumberBarn Mobile App and your NumberBarn account through a web browser.

However, outbound text messages can only be sent from the NumberBarn Mobile App.
