1. An active Port Away request with another phone carrier
2. Access to your NumberBarn account 
3. Access to the email inbox of your NumberBarn account email address

What is a Port Away Status Used For?

Port statuses help you track where your number is in the transfer process from NumberBarn to the new carrier you are paying to transfer the number.

• Even though the New/Gaining Carrier (not NumberBarn) is in charge of creating, submitting, and ultimately completing the number transfer, NumberBarn does its best to let you know what we know about the status of the Port Request.
  • When a Port Request is received for a number in a NumberBarn account, we will send an email and post a status in the account control panel.
  • If no request has reached our system, we have zero visibility on the status of the port request created on the New/Gaining carrier's system.

📋 Steps 

Check Status with Current/Losing Carrier (NumberBarn)

Request Received & Approved ⤵️
1	Login to your NumberBarn account
2	Select Numbers
3	Click on the phone number you are Porting Away
4	See Port Away approval date.
5	Check email for Requested Due Date
Request Received & Rejected ⤵️
1	Check your Email  for 📧 Transfer Away Rejected: (XXX) XXX-XXXX from NumberBarn.

Check Status with New/Current Carrier

• Find your new carrier on our ▶️ Port Away to Specific Carriers list for carrier-specific contact information and tips 
• Reaching out to the Carrier's Port Team/Department is the best way to resolve most porting situations.

✅ What's Next

• Wait for the transfer date
• On that day, your New/Gaining carrier will pull the number to their system.
• Once NumberBarn has been notified of this step, we will also send an email notification and remove the number from your NumberBarn account.
