What is a Port Away Rejection?
A Port Away rejection happens when a number transfer request cannot be completed successfully between carriers.
- The request must be corrected and resubmitted before your number can continue transferring to the new provider.
- Rejections originate from either the Current/Losing (NumberBarn) or the New/Gaining carrier.
| ๐ ฐ Losing/Current Carrier | ๐ ฑ New/Gaining Carrier | |
| The port request successfully reached NumberBarn, but the request was denied because of incorrect information, account issues, or transfer restrictions. An update and resubmission are needed to resolve. | A rejection from the gaining/new carrier happens before the request ever reaches NumberBarn. This is typically caused by missing required fields or internal submission errors from the new provider. |

| Pending Disconnect | If there are any account issues, this rejection can be sent. Reach out to support@numberbarn.com to update your account. |

| Due Date | A date that is not possible for the Current/Losing carrier is chosen. The gaining carrier may need to choose a date further in the future. As only wireless-to-wireless carriers are mandated to have same-day porting regulations, choosing a day 1-3 business days in the future can work to resolve this situation and allow for the port request to reach the current/losing carrier successfully. |
| Number Classification | All NumberBarn numbers are classified as wireline numbers. There is sometimes a different process for a carrier if they are porting a wireline/landline number or need to note this on their port internally. |
| Carrier-Based Restrictions | When a carrier chooses not to support numbers other than wireless numbers. Like Google Voice and Cricket Wireless. In this case, the number would first need to be ported to a wireless carrier, then into one of these types of carriers. chooses |
