💡 What Is It?
International credit is prepaid credit that pays for forwarding calls to international destinations that carry a per minute rate. Add credit to the account yourself, with no need to contact support. Domestic forwarding, and destinations that are included at no extra charge, do not use credit.
⚙️ How It Works
Prepaid Credit |
Credit Amounts |
|
|
Add credit before it is needed. When a call forwards to an international destination with a per minute rate, the minutes deduct from the credit at that destination's rate. Credit is used only for international forwarding. ▶️ See International Rates 📖 |
Add $5, $10, $25, $50, or $100 at a time. Credit belongs to the account, and it is added only after the payment completes. NumberBarn does not reload credit automatically. ▶️ See Add International Credit ⚙️ |
Credit Status
The International Forwarding section of Account Settings shows the status of the credit and the remaining balance, labeled "Available." The section header shows the balance, "Low" with the balance, "Empty," or "No credit."
| Status | What You See | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| No credit | No international credit yet | Add credit to start forwarding to destinations with a per minute rate. |
| Funded | Funded for international forwarding | Credit is available. A notice is sent when the balance reaches 10%. |
| Low | Low international credit | 10% or less of the credit remains. Reload so calls keep connecting. |
| Empty | Out of international credit | International calls won't connect until credit is added. |
Low Balance Email |
When Credit Runs Out |
|
|
An email is sent when the balance drops to 10% of the credit. The 10% mark is based on the balance right after the latest top up. For example, with $30 left and a $100 top up, the balance is $130, and the email is sent when $13 remains. The email is sent once each time the balance drops to that level. NumberBarn sends this notice by email only. |
International forwarding stops until credit is added. Domestic forwarding is not affected. |
📌 Things to Know
| International Credit Is Separate From the Account Balance | Only an Account Admin Can Add Credit | |
International credit is its own balance. Pay Now and the Account Balance in Billing & Payment do not add to it or show it. Add credit only from the International Forwarding section of Account Settings. |
Log in as an Admin on the account to add credit. Staff can't purchase international credit for an account. |
|
| Credit Is Shared Across the Account | Purchase Limits | |
Credit belongs to the account, not to a number or a user. Forwarded calls from every number draw from the same balance. |
Each purchase is $5 to $100. The account is limited to 20 credit purchases per day. |
|
| Credit Does Not Expire | Included Destinations Do Not Use Credit | |
Credit does not expire and rolls over for as long as there is a balance. |
Some destinations are included at no extra charge. Forwarding to them does not use credit, and credit is not needed to set them up. | |
| Rates Can Change | Existing International Forwarding Customers | |
|
Rates can change at any time. NumberBarn sends an email when a rate changes for a destination a number forwards to. ▶️ See International Rates 📖 |
Accounts that forwarded internationally before prepaid credit were emailed about the change. Follow the instructions in that email. Domestic forwarding is not affected. |
