Voicemail Overview 📖

    💡 What is it

    • Add a custom voicemail greeting that lets callers leave a voice message for your NumberBarn number. 
    • Voicemail messages are stored in your account and can be checked from multiple places.

    ⚙️ How it works

    Configuration

    • Voicemail configuration depends on your plan and account setup:

      • Forward, Unlimited, or Business Line: choose whether calls go to voicemail immediately, after a delay, or never, and set your greeting.
    • Park + Voicemail: no ring delay to set, since a parked number never rings anywhere. Turn transcription and voicemail to email on or off, and set your greeting.
    • Numbers with per-user or admin-managed call settings: voicemail routing may be set independently for each user instead of on the number itself.

    Automatic transcripts are included on Forward, Unlimited, Business Line, and Park + Voicemail. Transcription is automated, so accuracy varies, and messages longer than 1 minute are not transcribed.

    📌 Things to Know

    Voicemail Length

    Voicemail messages are limited to 5 minutes (300 seconds). If a caller stays connected longer, the recording ends automatically.

    Minute Usage

    On plans with a monthly minute allotment, playing your voicemail greeting and recording a message both count toward it.

    Message Storage

    Voicemail messages are stored for 90 days. Download and save a message before it expires if you want to keep it longer. Saving the notification email does not preserve the recording after it's removed from NumberBarn's servers.
